Cape Town Golf Courses

Cape Town has been tipped as one of the most beautiful cities in the world but the metropolis that literally nestles within a national park doesn’t have to rely on good looks alone, she has an added lure, enticing thousands of visitors from all corners of the globe to her verdant limits each year – the challenging golf courses spread throughout the Peninsula.

Cape Town is a fine blend of sparkling oceans and rugged mountain vistas and because of her natural versatility she offers golf courses that can be viewed as purely parkland and others that could well be adjudged as links courses because of their close proximity to the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. We take a brief look at three golf courses that have very different attractions and playing conditions, none of which are very far from our Cape Town luxury apartments.

Atlantic Beach – Prime Links Course with Views to Die For

As the name suggests, the course has been adeptly laid out within shouting distance of the icy Atlantic on the West coast, making it one of the true links courses in the country. When the notorious South Easter wind is at its best…or worst…the course is more than challenging. But the magnificent views of Table Mountain in all her glory, and the scents and hues of the indigenous fynbos that is the rough are just some of the wonderful natural attributes the course offers.

Mowbray Golf Club – Championship Parklands Course

This championship course is situated in the shadow of Devil’s Peak and has hosted a number of international tournaments over the years. It boasts lush, green fairways dotted with indigenous trees and the occasional lofty Pine, but what makes it one of the more popular venues in Cape Town is it’s close proximity to the CBD and our luxury Waterfront apartments, a mere 10 minutes by car.

Steenberg Golf Estate – Too many Bogeys? Head for the Wine Cellar instead

Steenberg is situated slap bang in the middle of the Constantia wine route and the course is laid out between the Estate’s Vineyards and commercial pine forests that fringe the base of the stunning Constantiaberg – the rear end of the Table mountain chain. If bogeys are the order of the day, cast the clubs aside and head for the gracious on-site hotel and a tipple or two of ice cold local libation!

The Full Monty

If none of these courses catch your fancy, we have listed the prime clubs in the vicinity of the city, not far from our Cape Town luxury apartments, for your convenience, so go online and pick a belter:
